The on-board C&T 69000 is a high performance LCD/CRT Windows accelerator incorporating 2MB SDRAM for the graphics/video frame buffer. It supports a wide range of flat panel displays, including 36-bit TFT LCD displays allowing simultaneous viewing of LCD and CRT displays. The built-in DiskOnChipR socket supports system boot-up and memory storage up to 144MB. The Fast Ethernet controller provides a tenfold increase in network capability; yet it is fully compatible with traditional 10Mbps network facilities. Hi-quality sound requirements are also provided for with an onboard PCI-bus ES1373 sound controller which is compatible with Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro and the Windows Sound System.
The PCM-4896 also includes four high speed serial ports (three RS-232s, one RS-232/422/485), one multi-mode (ECP/EPP/SPP) parallel port, a floppy drive controller, an Ultra DMA/33 Enhanced IDE controller and a keyboard/PS/2 mouse interface.
