Besides, this board is the first Super7 SBC that is designed to support the latest IntelR low-power/low-heat Mobile Pentium (Tillamook) CPUs.
The PCM-5896 is a 5.25" FDD-size Single Board computer which comes with VGA/LCD SVGA controller, 100Base-Tx Ethernet interface, integrated Audio function, Socket for DiskOnChipR and 4 COM ports.
The onboard 100BaseTx Ethernet interface, and Sound BlasterO-compatible audio opens up worlds of possible applications for kiosks, gaming systems, POS systems, medical and educational products. This ultra compact board packs all the functions of an embedded PC on a single board, but fits in the space of a 5 1/4" floppy drive (only 5.75" x 8").
The on-board C&T 69000 is a high performance LCD/CRT Windows accelerator incorporating 2MB SDRAM for the graphics/video frame buffer. It supports a wide range of flat panel displays, including 36-bit TFT LCD displays allowing simultaneous viewing of LCD and LCD displays. The built-in DiskOnChipR socket supports system boot-up and memory storage up to 144 MB. The Fast Ethernet controller provides a tenfold increase in network capability; it is fully compatible with traditional 10Mbps network facilities. Hi-quality sound requirements are also provided for with an onboard PCI-bus ES1373 sound controller which is compatible with Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro and the Windows Sound System.
The PCM-5896 also includes four high speed serial ports (three RS-232s, one RS-232/422/485), one multi-mode (ECP/EPP/SPP) parallel port, a floppy drive controller, an Ultra DMA/33 Enhanced IDE controller and a keyboard/PS/2 mouse interface.
