They offer high shielding effectiveness for high-frequency circuits in products like mobile phones, communication equipment, and satellite receivers. Today, most consumer electronics utilize these components not only for their functional performance but also for their compatibility with automated SMT assembly, which makes production smoother and faster.

Compared to deep-drawn designs, this type is more cost-effective and easier to form, while still providing superior EMI shielding performance. In terms of assembly, shielding cans fall into 2 categories:
(1) One Piece: Consists of a single shielding cover.
(2) Two Piece: Includes one shielding cover and one shielding frame.

On the other hand, regarding the frame structure, shielding frames fall into 2 categories:
(1) Drawn Type: Features seamless corners without gaps.
(2) Fold Type: Formed with folded corners.
